Dwight Berry, DDS General Dentist
Dwight Leon Berry, DDS was born on October 21, 1965 in Elmhurst, Queens in the city of New York. There, he completed his primary and secondary education levels and graduated with honors from Forest Hills High School. Following high school, Dr. Berry moved to Washington, DS where he matriculated at the prestigious Howard University. There, he received a BA in Zoology and served as a fellow at the internationally known research facility, The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, in Woods Hole, Massachusetts. As a fellow, he completed research in microbiology and was published in the Journal of Submicroscopic Cytology.
In1992, Dr. Berry received his doctorate degree in dental surgery, after which he completed a residency at West Jersey Health Systems Medical Center, an AAAHC acclaimed health consortium. Following his residency, he served as the Director of the Department of Dental Medicine for Community Health Care, a comprehensive dental and medical clinic in Vineland, New Jersey. After serving as director for several years, Dr. Berry decided to leave the Vineland area and return to the Washing D.C./Baltimore area. Back in the area, Dr. Berry began practicing dentistry in Baltimore for the world-renowned Johns Hopkins Hospital at its’ East Baltimore Medical Center. In addition to his private practice, Dr. Berry provided mobile dental services for patients who were non-ambulatory, homebound, senior, or disabled.
Dr. Berry chose dentistry as his profession because he felt it was a merger of two thing he loves most— art and medicine. He enjoys oil painting and sketching and is an accomplished photographer. He says, “it relaxes him and keeps his artistic eye sharp.” Dr. Berry is an ordained deacon in his church and a member of the international organization Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He has been inducted into Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities and Who’s Who in Dentistry. He is fluent in Spanish and serves many people in the Hispanic community.
Dr. Berry loves practicing dentistry and enjoys performing all aspects of the profession. He is dedicated to providing the best care he can for his patients and is determined to educate them about the correlation between dentistry and its effects on ones medical health.
